LEWISBURG — Masks no longer are required indoors on Bucknell University’s campus.
The mandate, which was in effect only a week, was lifted Thursday evening when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lowered the COVID-19 transmission rate for Union County from high to medium.
Requiring masks for all employees, students and campus visitors at public and academic indoor spaces when the county’s transmission risk is high is part of Bucknell’s COVID-19 policies for the fall semester.
This past week was the first time this semester the mandate kicked in. Masks are not required when the CDC transmission rate is low or medium.
Instructors still may require them in classrooms and labs and employees may request they be worn in their work areas, the university noted.
