Jennifer S. Conrad, a professor of finance at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Company College, was named interim dean of the business enterprise college on Thursday, in accordance to an announcement despatched to the school’s faculty, workers and learners.
Conrad has been at the College for more than 35 yrs and earlier served as senior associate dean for academic affairs in between 2011 and 2016.
“This is a occupied and exciting time at UNC Kenan-Flagler, especially as we keep a groundbreaking ceremony for a new developing next 7 days and conclude a successful fundraising marketing campaign later on this year,” Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz and Provost Chris Clemens reported in the announcement. “We are grateful to Jennifer for her management throughout this interim period whilst we launch a lookup to identify a lasting dean.”
Douglas A. Shackelford introduced on Friday, Sept. 16 he would action down from the position as dean in an email despatched to Kenan-Flagler faculty, staff and pupils. Shackelford has been serving as dean considering that 2014 — and Monday, Sept. 19 was his final day in the job.
Shackelford’s retirement will come months right after Angelica Rose Brown, a former UNC Kenan-Flager graduate college student, submitted a federal lawsuit from the University, a few enterprise faculty professors and the UNC Board of Governors alleging race discrimination.
