In downtown Burlington’s Historic Depot, there was a bustling scene with reside songs, a K-9 demonstration and additional for the once-a-year Phoenix Fourth Friday celebration, held in collaboration among the City of Burlington’s Recreation and Parks Office and Burlington Downtown Company.
As Burlington’s remaining Fourth Friday festival of the summer time, this marked the only celebration held even though Elon courses were being in session.
Elon College sophomore Lucy Horn stated situations like these are crucial to connect the Elon and Burlington communities. She promoted her goods, Appears to be by Lucy, at the function.
“Sometimes I feel like when we’re at Elon, we’re kind of isolated from the rest of the community, but remaining in this article delivers students and local community associates with each other, which I consider is terrific,” Horn explained.
Junior Tessa Gladwell will work at Tanner’s Wine Bar in downtown Burlington and said in her knowledge, not a large amount of Elon learners know what is housed downtown.
“There are not a ton of pupils at Elon who know a great deal about downtown Burlington, so I feel like combining the two offers an opportunity for that new demographic to form of see all of the firms and what they have to offer,” Gladwell reported.
This was the last Fourth Friday to close out the summer season, but Elon is established to collaborate yet again with downtown upcoming yr.
